It’s not every day you have the opportunity to procure a watch that has been on your bucketlist for ages. When opportunity presents itself, FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) seems to kick in hard!

Recently, I was lucky enough to grab the Oris ProPilot X Caliber 400 within my (tolerated) budget, which was unexpected and exciting at the same time. I was most excited about the titanium build, the stunning bracelet and its aeroplane seatbelt clasp, and of course the Caliber 400 movement – an amazing in-house Oris creation!

Before any watch makes my bucketlist, I deliberate (and perhaps do quite a bit of procrastination) and do a lot of research – the ProPilot X definitely passed muster. I can finally tell you why I grabbed this exceptional watch.

Unmatched Craftsmanship and Design

The first thing that caught my eye was the watch’s striking design. The Oris ProPilot X Caliber 400 boasts a titanium case, which is both lightweight and incredibly durable (just wish Oris added extra coating to hardened the Grade 2 Titanium). This high-quality material not only ensures longevity but also provides a sleek, modern aesthetic that sets it apart from other watches. Being a ‘pilot’ watch, I love the F-35 engine turbine blade depiction on the bezel and the screw in caseback.

Comfort and Style with the Titanium Bracelet

In addition to the case, the watch features a titanium bracelet. This choice of material enhances the overall comfort, making it perfect for everyday wear. The bracelet’s design is both stylish and functional, offering a secure fit while maintaining a refined look. Whether I’m dressing up for a formal event or going for a casual outing, the ProPilot X seamlessly complements my style. The bracelet does seem like it is integrated, that’s how good it looks, but it’s not. Having said that, this won’t be a strap monster, so it will remain on its stunning titanium bracelet. Oh yeah, that aeroplane seat belt clasp is just superb, and quite unique.

The Heart of the Watch: Oris Caliber 400

What truly sets this watch apart is the impressive Oris Caliber 400 automatic movement. Renowned for its precision and reliability (Oris offers a 10 year warranty!), the Caliber 400 represents a significant advancement in watchmaking technology. It offers an incredible five-day power reserve, ensuring that the watch keeps accurate time even if I don’t wear it for a few days. Moreover, the Caliber 400 is designed to be highly resistant to magnetic fields, a feature that adds to its robustness and reliability. Before anyone asks, “is it the 400-2 inside of this one?”, yes, it is the 400-2 caliber in this watch – which fixes the minute jumping hand and the heavier rotor to ensure COSC-like precision timekeeping.

Why the Grey Variant?

The grey variant of the Oris ProPilot X Caliber 400 adds a touch of sophistication and versatility. The understated yet elegant hue makes it suitable for any occasion, allowing me to wear it with a wide range of outfits. The grey dial, combined with the titanium case and bracelet, creates a cohesive and stylish look that I instantly fell in love with.

A Testament to Oris’ Commitment to Excellence

Choosing the Oris ProPilot X Caliber 400 Grey watch was not just about owning a luxury timepiece; it was about investing in a brand that values quality and innovation. Oris has a long-standing reputation for producing exceptional watches that combine tradition with modernity, and the ProPilot X is a perfect example of this commitment.

In summary, the Oris ProPilot X Caliber 400 watch is more than just a timepiece; it is a statement of style, precision, and durability. The titanium case and bracelet, combined with the revolutionary Oris Caliber 400 automatic movement, makes it a worthy addition to my collection. This watch is not only a reflection of my personal taste but also a testament to the artistry and craftsmanship that define Oris.
